Dr. Farag is a licensed physical therapist with over eight years of clinical experience, specializing in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions. He is the owner of First Choice Physical Therapy, where he is committed to delivering patient-centered care grounded in evidence-based practice.
His areas of clinical expertise include general orthopedics, prehabilitation and post-operative rehabilitation, gait training, joint replacement rehabilitation, sports injury management, spine care, and treatment of chronic conditions such as tendinopathies and osteoarthritis. Matthew has a particular interest in identifying the underlying causes of movement dysfunction and developing individualized plans to restore optimal mobility, strength, and performance.
He is deeply passionate about patient education, believing that informed patients are empowered participants in their own recovery. Matthew earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Sport Studies from Rutgers University and received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from DeSales University.
Outside of the clinic, he maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys a variety of recreational sports, including soccer, basketball, and tennis. He is also an avid sports fan—his favorite tennis player is Novak Djokovic
Brandon Murphy is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant who graduated from the PTA Program at Mercer County College. With four years of hands-on experience, he brings a thoughtful, energetic, and patient-focused approach to every session, helping individuals regain their strength, mobility, and confidence.
Brandon works closely with patients across a wide range of diagnoses, including post-operative recovery, joint pain, sports injuries, and chronic conditions like tendonitis and arthritis. He is known for his attentiveness, clear communication, and ability to adapt exercises to meet each patient's comfort level and goals.
He finds it deeply rewarding to see patients return to pain-free movement after completing their physical therapy journey and takes pride in creating a positive and motivating environment throughout the process.
Outside of the clinic, Brandon enjoys jogging through local parks, playing ice hockey, and exploring new languages—a reflection of his curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning.
Julia Garcia is a senior at the University of Hartford, majoring in Health Science with a minor in Psychology. She is pursuing a career in physical therapy, driven by her passion for helping people move better and feel stronger.
At the clinic, Julia brings a positive energy and a genuine interest in patient care, assisting with daily tasks and supporting a smooth, welcoming experience for everyone who walks in. She’s eager to grow her skills and contribute wherever she’s needed.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys working out and spending time at the beach. She looks forward to continuing her education and making a meaningful impact in the lives of others through physical therapy.
Kelly DeGaetano is a senior at Monmouth University, majoring in Health Studies with a focus in Exercise Science. She is currently applying to Doctor of Physical Therapy programs, driven by her dedication to helping others stay active and healthy.
As part of the clinic team, Kelly brings a motivated attitude and a strong interest in rehabilitation and movement, supporting staff and patients alike with her enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Outside of the clinic, Kelly plays soccer for Monmouth University, and enjoys running and spending time at the beach. She’s excited to continue building her experience as she prepares for a future in physical therapy.
